CELTA Incubator celebrates its 35th anniversary

The CELTA Incubator, responsible for boosting innovative entrepreneurship in Florianópolis, has celebrated its 35th anniversary. Created in 1986 by the CERTI Foundation, it was Brazil’s first technology-based business incubator. Located in the Alfa Technology Park, CELTA is home to renowned companies such as Intelbras, Reivax, Embraer, Horus and Weg. Its success is due to the four-stage incubation methodology, providing strategic support, access to infrastructure and partnerships with companies such as Amazon and Siemens.

The incubator has stood out nationally and internationally, serving as a benchmark for initiatives in Mexico, Venezuela and Peru. With 118 graduated companies, including RD Station, Brazil’s first unicorn startup, CELTA is currently home to 33 companies, generating R$67 million a year and approximately 800 jobs.

Recognized by Anprotec and Finep, the incubator stands out as a hub of connection thanks to the support of partners such as the CERTI Foundation, UFSC, UDESC, the State and Municipal Governments, Fapesc, and others, allowing it to continuously innovate and become a reference in the development of the innovation ecosystem in Florianópolis.
